Case Study
The Project
Continuing my mission of rebuilding Bold's web properties to bring the content producers, copywriters, and the rest of the team closer to the website. This time I had the opportunity to rethink how the content get's entered and what we can do once it's in a more portable place.
Utilizing our Sanity studio that underpins the website, I wrote some new schemas that referenced the people and company types we already had, but then adding quotes, audio files, and show links.
Now that we had access to the audio files directly and weren't relying on embeds paired with the fact that we're in a modern React frontend, I was able to make an audio player that persisted across the site. This allowed people to continue to browse around our site without having to stop listening to the latest episode.
A very subtle detail (maybe too subtle) is that there is a faint colorful glow that follows the progress of the episode. As the episode progresses, it's filled with more and more of the pink glow.
